European Roulette Betting Options

When it comes to the betting rules of European roulette, there are a number of available options. Each bet covers a different set of numbers and offers a different distribution.

In a Straight Up Bet, players can bet on any number, including 0 by placing a chip on the center of that number. The maximum bet for this wager is indicated on the roulette table

The Split Bet allows players to bet on two numbers by placing their chip on the line that divides the two numbers. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum then multiplied by two.

The Street Bet means that a player bets on a row of three numbers (known as a “street”) by placing a chip on the boundary line of the roulette table, right at the end of the corresponding tow. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum then multiplied by three.

The Corner Bet allows players to bet on four numbers by placing their chip at the corner where all four numbers meet. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum then multiplied by four.

The Four Bet is a bet on the numbers 0, 1, 2, and 3 by placing the chop on the boundary line where the line between 0 and the first row intersects it. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum then multiplied by four.

The Line Bet is where a player can bet on two street bets (the six different numbers in two rows of three numbers), by placing the chip on the boundary line of the roulette table where the line dividing the two rows intersects it. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum then multiplied by six.

A Columns Bet looks at the three boxes labeled “2 to 1” at the bottom of each column of number on the table. Players are able to place bets for all the numbers in that column by placing a chip in one of these boxes. If any of the numbers in that column is hit, the player is paid out 2:1. 0 is a losing number. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum multiplied by ten.

In a Dozens Bet the player is able to bet on a group of twelve numbers by placing a chip in one of the three boxes marked “1st 12,” “2nd 12,” or “3rd 12.” If one of the twelve numbers is hit, the player is paid out 2:1. 0 is a losing number. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum multiplied by ten.

Other bets include Red/Black, Even/Odd and Low/High Bets. Players place a chip in a box that covers half of the numbers on the roulette table, excluding 0. Each box covers 18 numbers. Players win even money (1:1) on all of these bets. The maximum bet for this wager is the Straight Up bet maximum multiplied by twenty.

There is a minimum table bet, meaning that all bets added together needs to equal the minimum value indicated on the table.
