Origins of Roulette

Roulette was actually discovered completely by accident. Roulette history began in 1655 when a French mathematician and physicist known as Blaise Pascal wanted to create a machine in perpetual motion. The wheel was designed along with house pockets, two bank slots and two separate betting spaces.

Nearly 200 years later, French brothers Louis and Francois Blanc, opted to redesign the game, including the wheel. This was when the iconic black and red pockets and the green zero pockets were created, along with the numbering from 1 to 36.
