The Martingale system is one of the oldest baccarat betting systems ever devised. It also remains one of the most controversial, with equal amounts of lovers and haters of the idea. Originally devised for even money bets in roulette, it was later adapted for blackjack and baccarat. Read on to make up your own mind about the suggested strategy.

The thinking behind the system is based on the law of averages, which states that on any 50/50 bet there are only two outcomes and that both of which are equally probable.  This suggests that if a person continues to gamble on this bet, then eventually the player will end up even plus the original stake. If you can afford to raise your bet amount as the Martingale system requires, then you will end up with a decent return.

The most beneficial table to play is considered to be a $1 minimum bet, and these are most commonly found in online casino. The reason behind this is that a high number of bets are required, with the stake being doubled each time, for a decent return to be seen. The Martingale system is to be used in baccarat only if you bet on the player or banker.

The way the method works is that after any even money bet is lost, a player continues to double all subsequent bets until they eventually win. After you lose an even-money bet, double your bet until you win. Any win means that the player has won a total of $1. This is because doubling up covers the losses of the previous bet. The player then returns to betting the minimum stake.

Players that adopt this system believe it is good because they are also eventually ahead of the casino. However, the winning amount is minimal. Few players aim at winning a dollar at a time. Of course, over a period of time and depending on how soon the winning hand is hit (the earlier the better) then profit will be accumulated. The system definitely requires a great deal of patience and dedication.

However, on the down side it is a very real possibility that players will go broke before they hit a winning hand. Also, doubling up each time is a very quick way to deplete an entire bankroll. Furthermore, the level of dedication and hours of play to see a return may not fit a player’s lifestyle or gaming choices.
