The Rules of Online Casino Roulette

The rules of online casino roulette are simple, straightforward and easy to learn. The game’s table features a large wheel which is spun in one direction, containing a ball which is spun in the opposite direction. You must bet on the number or colour that the ball lands on when the wheel’s spin comes to a halt. You can place bets on the colors red or black, as well as either single numbers or groups of numbers.

Starting a Round of Roulette

To start the first round of a game of online roulette, you must decide how much you want to bet and in which section you’d like to place your bet. For example, you could bet on the ball landing on an odd or even number, landing on black or white, on a figure between 1 and 12 or within a specific column of figures on the online casino roulette table.

To increase your chances of winning at roulette, you can also bet that the ball will land in a black or red pocket or that it will land between the two or find the green 0 pocket. Once you’ve placed your bet, click the Spin button to spin the online casino roulette wheel. As soon as the ball lands, you will know whether you have won or lost.

To allow players more chances of winning, the rules of roulette state that you can bet on more than just a single number. Possible bets include the following:

  • A single number up to 36
  • A line which bets on two numbers
  • A row
  • A corner
  • Two rows
  • Groups 1-18 or 19-36
  • Red or black
  • Odd or even
  • 1st 12, 2nd 12 or 3rd 12.

Note that the bets that are harder to hit, such as a single number, offer the biggest pay outs.

Dozens Bet

To place a Dozens Bet, you must secure your chip on the twelve consecutive numbers (1-12, 13-24, or 25-36). If the roulette wheel spins a 0 or 00 you lose. This bet pays two-to-one.

Red or Black Bets

Placing your chip on the red or black circles on the online roulette table means you are betting on the outcome of the spin being either a red number or a black number. This bet pays even money.

Column Bets

Below one row of numbers on the roulette table, you’ll find three boxes which read "2 to 1." Each one represents the column of numbers above it. Placing a chip in one of these boxes means that if a number from within the corresponding column comes up, you win. This bet pays two-to-one.

High or Low Bets

At either end of the online roulette table, you’ll find a box with "1 to 18" written inside and another with "19 to 36" written inside. By placing a chip in 1 to 18, you are betting on whether a number between 1 and 18 will come out after the next spin. Similarly, by placing a chip in 19 to 36, you are betting on a number between 19 and 36 will come out.

Odd or Even Bets

This is similar to the Red or Black Bet. By placing a chip on the Odd or Even boxes on the roulette table, you are predicting that the next spin will land on an odd number or an even number (0 doesn’t count as either). These bets will pay even money.
