Mega Fortune online slots game was launched by online casino game distribution company Net Entertainment. Net Entertainment is a Scandinavian company that was established in 1996 and is considered one of the pioneers of online casino gambling. Paolo Chisci, a 70 year old man from Carrara, Italy, is suing his doctor for prescribing him with a medication which caused him to spend $514,000 at a casino and other forms of gambling.
Paolo, who is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, reports spending this sum gambling between 1999 and 2005, the same years he was taking a dopamine agonist drug prescribed by his doctor to manage his illness.
The manufacturers of the drug in question do warn its users about some rare side effects such as “pathological addiction to gambling, shopping and internet pornography,” though these side effects were added to the warning leaflet only after 2005. Due to the belated notification, Paolo – who had used the drug for six years before it was added – is suing for the sum of money he lost while gambling and playing casino games.
Paolo Chisci is trying to prove that, before using this drug, he was not a gambler and very much a saver. During these gambling sprees, he found himself playing at a casino slots machine, gambling at other casino games – such as roulette and blackjack – and buying as much as 500 lottery scratch card tickets, all after he started taking the drug.
Besides suing the doctor who prescribed this medication, Chisci also intends to sue the drug’s manufacturer. A court hearing for a ruling on this lawsuit is set for 8 February. In a similar case in the United States, a plaintiff who used this particular drug sued and was awarded $8000 by the court for his gambling losses.

Casino Club, a well known online casino in Germany has denied one of its regular players a jackpot prize of over €160,000. The online casino claims that the casino player won the jackpot using what is known as “illegal” money that he unjustly won playing one of the casinos blackjack games.
The player rejects all allegations against him. He took the case to the Maltese Lotteries and Gaming Authority (FGA), since the casino site is not licensed in Germany and German laws don’t apply. According to the law in Malta, however, Gambling debts are not enforceable and the LGA can’t do much to change the online casinos decision.
The money which was taken out of the player’s account was not yet returned to the progressive jackpot from which it was won. Boss Media, the software intelligence running Casino Club are the ones responsible for paying winners, but it is still not certain whether or not they will pay up in this case. The player was told by lawyers to take Casino Club to the Maltese court for trial where he will need to prove his innocence.
Whether the player wins or not, has yet to be determined, but the fact that gaming debts are not enforceable in Malta means that the LGA has little to offer in terms of player protection. Ultimately, this could turn a lot of potential players away from playing online in the country.

An online casino player from China won a jackpot of $4,444 in a progressive slots game and refused the money out of fear for his life. Although Mr. C was thrilled to have won at first, his enthusiasm turned in to fear – supernatural fear. Recent research on how women use the internet has become of real interest to the world of online gaming. A study done by Comscore shows that women are starting to play online more than they have in the past. Although the study showed that women are still behind men when it comes to using the internet, it seems that more and more women are getting comfortable with being online and are starting to spend more time on the net.
The numbers in the study showed that women who use the internet over the age of 55 will spend an average of 214 minutes a month playing online casino games, while men between the age of 15-24 will only spend a mere 92 minutes a month playing casino games.
The study also showed that women spend a lot more time with online social communication then do men. Women are likely to spend approximately one third of their time online with social networking, instant messaging and emails. Men, however, are only likely to spend only one quarter of their time socializing online.
Also when it comes to photo sharing and shopping, women apparently spend more time online than do men. Women over the age of 55 are most likely to spend their time playing online games, and most likely to play puzzles, card and board games.
The number of women getting on gambling and sexually oriented websites has been on the up as well. Woman are almost as likely as men to be found gambling online and more than a third of woman who use the internet will view sites with sexual content.
Andrew Lipsman the senior director of industry analysis at Comscore said, “Unlike the earlier days of the Internet, women today exhibit many behaviours that are perhaps surprisingly similar to their male counterparts.”
