In the United Kingdom there more than five million people register with new casino accounts to become online gamblers every year. However, there is only a very small percentage of these individuals who realize that where they are gambling may actually be an ‘unsafe’ online casino website. In a recent investigation, it was found that around 45 percent of all online casinos based in the United Kingdom do not hold the proper licenses in any of the ‘white listed’ jurisdictions. The United Kingdom continues to list all the online casinos that have had an operating license issued to them. All unregulated online casinos are not only considered unsafe, but they are also deemed illegal. The unfortunate thing is that a majority of online gamblers have no clue of the increased probability for financial loss when they choose to register to gamble at unregulated online casino websites. This has been made a primary concern within the government in the United Kingdom. The government is looking to increase public awareness of all the inherent risks that are associated with online casinos what are unregulated and without licenses.
The United Kingdom Gambling Commission currently has a list of all countries that follow the rules, are regulated, and have the proper licensing for all online casino establishments. Many licensed online casinos throughout the United Kingdom are able to advertise and market; however, the online casinos that are not on the white list cannot advertise. This prevents citizens from being able to register and gamble. Currently, there are more than one-thousand online casinos with operating licenses in white listed jurisdictions. This provides the opportunity for gamblers to find reliable selections for online casino entertainment. However, many still find the unregulated and unlicensed websites, which is a cause for concern.
Mansion Group and all it’s subsidiaries including Casino.com and MansionCasino.com are fully licensed, legal and regulated online casino sites in the UK

While indirect, Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, has had a major influence on the increase in the utilization of mobile gambling. While Jobs passed away this past Wednesday after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, his memory lives on as a pure visionary and one of the greatest inventors in history. One area where his presence is felt is the burgeoning mobile gambling industry.
When Apple first introduced the iPhone in the year 2007, it literally changed the entire gaming industry by introducing a new era whereby online casino and gaming participants could access the casino, poker room, or sportsbook right from their mobile device. While iPhone was not the first smart phone to hit the market, it was the first one to gain massive worldwide popularity.
In 2010, the global public saw the launch of the iPad tablet by Jobs. In just a few months time, some of the most prominent sports betting and online casino companies launched betting applications specifically designed for the iPad tablet. With the eventual launch of the iPad2, more online casino companies created their own gaming applications. Today, people everywhere no longer need their computer to access their favorite online casino games; they can easily access them from their iPhone and iPad.
There has been a lot of speculation concerning the new direction of Apple since Jobs stepped down months ago and gave the CEO position to Tim Cook. One of the theories floating around is that Apple will now be looking to revamp current television devices.
Well, no matter what may happen concerning future Apple developments, current innovations have allowed the online casino industry to easily make the profitable move to mobile devices. It is good to take a minute and remember Jobs and how he helped the advancement of the online gaming industry.

The New Zealand Lotteries Commission made a new plan in regards to the current expansion of the gambling business through the internet. The Lotteries Commission has opted to start selling Instant Kiwi lottery tickets through the online casino. However, this plan has been opposed by New Zealand-based Problem Gambling Foundation. The Problem Gambling Foundation stated accusations that by selling lottery tickets through online casinos, it would increase the overall occurrence of gambling problems amid consumers. The Lotteries Commission’s Chief Executive, Todd Mcleay, responded to these accusations by saying that products associated with gambling, such as lottery tickets, do not actually contribute to gambling addiction.
However, contrary to the response provided by Mcleay, a number of other countries have provided evidence that lottery is one of the main causes of a gambling addiction. Countries that have strict laws regarding the issue of selling lottery tickets through online casinos have lower rates of gambling addictions via online casinos. However, Mcleay retorts by says that numerous businesses cannot survive without the internet, and this includes the gambling industry. Mcleay points out that as online casinos expand, more people will see them in the future and it will be where a majority of business transactions occur as the internet is where many people buy things online.
Currently, the government in New Zealand has yet to approve the plan on the table to advertise Instant Kiwi lottery tickets at online casinos. There is still a lot left to be discussed prior to pursuing this form of online gambling expansion. The Lotteries Commission has set up a two year plan in which to provide New Zealand lottery consumers with a number of new online venues in which they can purchase their lottery tickets to make it much easier and more accessible.

Even though there has been recent chatter about online gambling restrictions in the United Kingdom, the recent closure of a number of popular United States poker websites seemed to have garnered the attention of British Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt. Known as Black Friday, which occurred on 15 April, saw the closing of a number of online casino websites by the United States Department of Justice. Full Tilt, Poker Stars, and other websites had their domain names seized. And although the aforementioned online casino websites did have the ability to resume businesses only to a European audience, it only took a few month months for Full Tilt to be closed down once and for all.
Not one to miss the current goings-on, Secretary Hunt is reported to be planning a number of new radical procedures for the online gambling industry in the United Kingdom. According to an official Cultural Ministry spokesperson, the current actions of the Department of Justice in the United States highlighted the reasons why the current government needs to look at reforming overseas-based online gambling operators are regulated.
The measures listed include revamping current online gambling licensing laws, regulations, and rules. There is also going to be a number of advertising restrictions that will be put in place to assist in the regulations of offshore online gambling operators. The current European Union White List cuts through a number of offshore advertising restrictions. The White List guarantees that online casino websites do not need to receive licensing from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. As well, because of the tax structured based in the United Kingdom, more and more United Kingdom online casino companies that have their license through the United Kingdom Gambling Commission, are looking to now move their base of online casino business to offshore-based licensing jurisdictions.

In June 2011, the plans for a new casino right next to Chicago, Illinois are set to start construction. The Rivers Casino in Des Plaines will feature a minimum of 1,050 slots and 48 various table games. The casino will offer the highest betting limits in Illinois.
Though construction is still currently underway, the officials are stating that the gambling hall, which will be 147,000 square feet, will sit along the leading edge of all Chicago-based casinos. The Marketing Vice President of the Rivers Casino believes it will blow away all the local competition.
What is the main draw of this new casino? That would be its prime location. The Rivers Casino sits along Des Plaines’ southeastern corner at the junction of Devon Avenue and River Road. This places it right across the street from popular Rosemont and the large number of hotels as well as a convention center. There is going to be at least 16,000 hotel rooms within a five mile radius of the casino. City officials hope that this will increase tourism to the area and give individuals something else to do while they are staying in town.
Casino officials at this time would not disclose any of the upper table limits as the details are currently still under review. They will however offer high rollers the ability to gamble in a small, yet secluded gaming room, which will also feature a lounge that is “invitation only.”
The casino will feature four restaurants, with the Chop House and Hugo’s Frog Bar the most expensive, and several lounges. This includes Cube, which offer players an outdoor patio featuring numerous levels.
What many will enjoy about the new casino is that it is laid out in a spacious manner. The slot machines are going to placed along wider aisles and there will be table games in the middle of the floor.

The Casino Regulatory Authority in Singapore has put out notice that by the end of 2011, they will be inspecting both casinos in Singapore to ensure casino operators are complying with all regulation and rules. Richard Magnus, Chairman of the Casino Regulatory Authority stated that both the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa were due for an inspection as they have had over a year to work out any prior operational kinks. The inspection is to include a detailed inspection on-site of all electronic gaming equipment used in the casino as well as a comprehensive check on all casino operations. The Casino Regulatory Authority wants to ensure that the casinos are running up to code and there is no shady under business dealings going on. This inspection, according to Magnus, is to determine if the casino operators are fully complying with the regulations, licensing requirements, approved gaming rules, and internal controls as stipulated in the Casino Control Act. If the casino is not complying with anything stipulated in the Casino Control Act, they will be heavily fined and will face shut down orders if items are not taken care of in a timely fashion.
Prior to this inspection, inspections conducted by the Casino Regulatory Act were done regularly and led to the casino operators being penalized or censured. In May of 2011, Resorts World Sentosa, for example, was given an S$530,000 fine for a number of penalties, including not maintaining the casino’s surveillance system and paying casino entry levies for all media representatives.
One of the main functions of the Casino Regulatory Authority is to keep crimes involving the casinos under control. The Singapore Minister of State of Homeland Affairs and Foreign Affairs, Masagos Zulkifli, said, “In the first year of casino operations, there were fewer than 300 cases reported at the casinos, mainly theft-related and cheating cases involving isolated individuals.”

The second largest gambling city in the United States, Atlantic City, New Jersey, is allowing for the establishment of smaller casinos in an effort to increase business. The casino business in the last few years has been declining due to the current economic climate as well as competition arising from neighboring states.
On Wednesday, the New Jersey State Casino Control Commission approved a new process allowing two new, much smaller casinos to get their license. One casino will have about 200 rooms and the other will eventually increase to 500 rooms in the next five years. Previous New Jersey casino laws required casinos to have a minimum of 500 rooms. This new plan was created as a cheaper way for new casino companies to enter into the current market and bring in not only much needed investment, but fresh ideas.
The chairwoman of the New Jersey State Casino Commission, Linda Kasserket said new guidelines permitting the establishment of smaller casinos are to promote the continual construction of new casinos housing top-quality restaurants and entertainment venues. According to Kasserket, there is an August 19 deadline for companies to submit an application for participation in what is being deemed as a “pilot program” for the construction of smaller casinos. However, the deadline may be extended if there are few applicants. The guidelines for application determine how the commission is going to select applicants. These guidelines include number of jobs created, the experience the company has building similar projects, neighborhood benefits, and how quickly construction would be started.
Current Atlantic City casinos are divided on this new development. Some say it is not fair to existing casinos that have invested millions of dollars to permit new casinos to enter into the market at a much cheaper rate. However, to compensate, new smaller casinos are going to be taxed at a much higher rate than existing casinos.

King of Vegas, Steve Wynn, Has his Own Royal Wedding
It appears the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton has set a trend for all things British and marriage, as Las Vegas casino mogul, Steve Wynn, tried to top the moment by marrying his British bride, Andrea Hissom this weekend.
This should come as no surprise that the king of casinos would interpret the word royal to his own flashy standards and had a wedding very similar to the wedding of the year which took place in the UK only a few days ago.
Wynn,69, clearly made an effort to match the royal wedding, his bride wore a wedding gown which had a lace bodice nearly identical to the one Kate wore. The veil on her head was nearly identical to the Duchess, as if they had inside scoop on what the future queen of England was going to wear on her wedding day, one of the biggest kept secrets of the event.
“King” Wynn of Vegas and his queen to be were married this past Saturday, April 30th, in a ceremony which consisted of a 1500 VIP guest list, which included heads of states, celebrities and high rollers. The wedding was held at his Encore resort in Las Vegas in a Hollywood fashion and is believed to have cost $1 million dollars. Wynn held a 3 day party prior to the wedding and had invited 500 guests out of the 1500 come and celebrate at the casino. Among these guests were Donald Trump, Sylvester Stallone, Hugh Jackman, Celine Dion, Garth Brooks and Clint Eastwood as his best man. Many believe Wynn’s wedding can turn big revenue from the event as the big rollers will gamble at the casino in pursuit of rubbing shoulders with the celebrity “A” list.
