How to Play Online Mahjong at Casino.com

Starting a round of Mahjong

To begin playing mahjong, double click the Casino.com icon on your desktop. Once you’ve signed in, the casino lobby will open. Select Play for Fun if you want to practice playing the game or Play for Real Money if you want to play to win real cash.

Hover over the Asian Games tab in the menu on the left hand side of the casino lobby and select the mahjong game you’d like to play. When the game has loaded, click on New Game in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to begin the first round.

Mahjong Tiles

The mahjong "wall" is situated below the game logo in the top left hand corner of the screen and features a set of 24 face-down tiles. Your hand, displayed as a long line of tiles above the Pay table, Bet and Win buttons, consists of 13 face-up tiles. You will notice that there is an empty space at the right-hand side of your hand.

Your challenge is to find the correct tile to complete the set by selecting one of the 24 face-down tiles. To do this, click on one of the yellow tiles on the wall. If your chosen tile completes one of the sets or sequences in your hand, you win. You can only pick three tiles per round. To view the number of remaining picks you have, check the figure in the Picks Left box, situated under tile wall.

If you’ve picked from the wall but haven’t selected the correct tile to complete the hand, a No Hand sign will flash on the online mahjong screen and the tile you selected will be discarded automatically. You can then pick a new tile by clicking one of the tiles on the wall again. If you pick three tiles and still haven’t found the tile you need to complete a winning hand, your game of mahjong will be over.

Winning a Round of Online Mahjong

If you complete a winning hand of online majhong, a separate screen will pop up, congratulating you and enabling you to view all the sets you have in your hand, as well as how much they are worth, how many points you have accumulated and how much money you have won.

You will be given the option to continue playing the same game (simply click the Continue button) or to start a new round (click on New Game). On the right side of the wall, you’ll find the Hand Information panel. This displays information on the bonuses related to the current game you are playing.

At the end of a winning round, your final score will be based on this information. The game ends when the three rounds are over. If you’re in multiplayer mode, the winner is the player with the highest score.

Solo Mahjong and Solo Mahjong Pro

If you haven’t played mahjong before, we recommend you start by playing Solo Mahjong. The aim is incredibly simple: you are one tile away from a winning hand and have three opportunities to complete one from a wall of 24 face-down tiles.

Solo Mahjong Pro, however, is slightly more challenging, unless you’ve mastered the basics of the game - in particular, its winning combinations. Both Solo Mahjong and Solo Mahjong Pro can be played according to WMF or Japanese scoring systems.

Online Mahjong Buttons

• Action: Refers to a hand in online mahjong that is applied as a bonus. If you win this hand, the points are added to your game total.
• Bet: The amount of money you are placing for each round of casino mahjong. Use the arrow button to increase or decrease your bet amount.
• Win: This is the total amount you have won in the last round of casino mahjong.
• Pay table: This button opens a screen which allows you to view how much you win based on the score and the names of the tiles currently in your hand.
• New Game: Allows you to start a new round of online mahjong.
• Menu: When clicked, you will be presented with three options:
• History: Displays details of previous games and rounds you have played.
• Options: Use this to change audio/visual settings in the game.
• Help: This opens the user manual if you require more game instructions.
• Online Support: Enables you to speak to a Casino.com mahjong customer support specialist, provided there is one available online.
• Close/Lobby: Click here to go back to the lobby. If you are playing in multi-window mode, this button will display the word Close. If the multi-window support is enabled, the button will display the word Lobby. You use this feature by clicking the Options button.
• Shortcut Keys for online casino mahjong:
• Tab: Will allow you to jump highlight buttons on the screen.
