These rules of online Mahjong refer to the single –player version of the online casino Mahjong game as played by the Japanese rules. When starting the game of online casino Mahjong, the player starts out with a ready hand (only one tile away from a winning hand) and must find the correct tile in the online casino wall in order to complete the hand.

The online Mahjong wall contains a set of 24 faced down tiles. To pick a tile, click on it. The player has three changes for each round. The number of picks left for each player can be viewed under the wall.

You can view your hand under the wall. On the right hand of it you can find the last tile that was picked. The space above that holds the tiles that were discarded. If you pick a tile from the wall and you didn’t complete a hand, a “No Hand” sign will flash on the online Mahjong screen and the tile will automatically be discarded. You can also discard of the tile on your own by clicking on it. After discarding the casino Mahjong tile, you can pick a new tile. If none of the three tiles picked completes a hand, your turn at online casino Mahjong is over.

Note:

In standard online Mahjong, tiles that are discarded can be used to complete a winning hand. When playing online casino solo Mahjong, they cannot. Tiles that are left discarded do not take part in the continuation of the game.

If you pick a tile that completes a winning hand in online Mahjong, a win screen will pop open in which you will be able to see all the sets you have in your hand and how many points each one is worth. In online casino Mahjong, the game points translate into the game score which then translates into how much money you’ve won. If you wish to view the end state of the game round for online casino Mahjong, click on Continue on the win screen. If you wish to continue with a new round, click on the New Game button.

On the right hand side of the wall is the Hand Information which shows the bonuses that are related to the current online casino Mahjong game round. Solo Mahjong Rules: In online Mahjong, a winning hand has 14 tiles. At the beginning of the game and after the first round in which a tile is discarded, you will have 13 tiles, better known as a “ready hand”. The remaining tiles left in your hands are then organized into sets by suit and number.

Suits

In online casino Mahjong, there are five different suits. Three of them are Numeral suits and two are letter suits. The Numeral suits are better known as Bars, Wons and Dots. Each one of these casino Mahjong suits has nine tiles and is marked with numbers starting from 1-9.

The two letter casino Mahjong suits are known as Winds and Dragons. The wind suit is made up of four different tiles representing the North, South, East and West winds and is marked by the letters N, S, E and W. The Dragon suit is made up of three tiles representing the Red, Green and White dragons and is marked with the letters R, G and Wh.

The first and ninth tile in each one of these casino Mahjong number suits is known as Edges. These tiles together with the letter tile make up of the Honors suit. Sets of honor tiles are more valuable then sets made from Middle tiles (tiles with numbers 2-8 of the number suit.)

In a typical game of online Mahjong has 4 of each suit and a total of 136 tiles. For the simpler version of Solo Mahjong, this means that there can be up to four identical tiles in a hand and wall together.

Sets

The 14 tiles in a winning hand of online Mahjong can be organized into several different sets. In order for it to be deemed a wining hand, your hand must be full. A full hands means that each tile you are holding must be part of some set.

The following are available sets:

  • Pong – This is a set of three tiles of identical suit and value.
  • Kong – This is a set of four tiles of identical suit and value.
  • Chee – This is a set of three tiles of identical suit and sequential value.
  • Pair – This is a set of two tiles of identical suit and value. This set does not give you any points, but is necessary to complete a winning casino Mahjong hand.

In the standard game of online Mahjong, there are specific situations in which a player may be required to call a set. In such a situation, the set is then placed on the table and set apart from the other tiles. In Solo Mahjong, your existing hand may already contain called sets.

There are two types of called Kong: Open Kong and Hidden Kong:

  • An Open Kong set is displayed as three face-up tiles with one face-down tile on top of them.
  • A Hidden Kong set is the exact opposite in which the set is displayed as three face-down tiles with one face-up tile on top of them.

If there are no called sets in your hand or you only have a called Hidden Kong, then the hand is called a Clean hand. You may lose points if your hand is not clean, so this point is important to note in online casino Mahjong.

The sets mentioned above can be mixed and matched in order to show different possible wining combinations in casino Mahjong.

It is important to note that there are also special hands (Nine Treasure Lamps) in which extra game points are give out for specific tile combinations that are not listed above.

Points

In order to win a round in online Mahjong, you must collect a total amount of 700 game points. The casino Mahjong points are given out based on specific sets, their different combinations and actions. The casino Mahjong game points translate into the game score which is then translated into how much money you won. The game score is calculated based on a traditional, complex game algorithm. The more points you collect, in online Mahjong the higher your score will be and the more money you win.

The following is a list of hands, actions and explanations for the online casino Mahjong game point values you can earn. The value of the relevant hand is added up to form your total online casino game points of that round. You cannot get more than 20 game points per round. If the total points for the round pass 20, it is rounded down.
