It’s not surprising that Winn was later dubbed "the father of modern craps."

Craps' popularity soared with the arrival of the 20th century. In between battles, soldiers in World War II would play craps to pass the time, and during the decades that followed, the game – renowned for its lively tables and great action – has become one of the most popular casino games in history.
