Play Pontoon Blackjack
Pontoon Blackjack is the British version of traditional blackjack. The goal is the same — to come as close to 21 without going over and to beat the dealer's card — but there are several differences.
How Does Pontoon Blackjack Differ from Classic Blackjack?
In Pontoon Blackjack all of the cards have the same value as in regular blackjack and all of the betting rules are the same. The differences between the American and British versions is that in regular American blackjack, you get to see one of the dealer's cards; in British blackjack, the dealer is dealt two face down cards and you cannot see either of them until the dealer begins to play its hand.
Another difference is that a 5-card trick, or a "Pontoon," wins 2 to 1 in Pontoon Blackjack, whereas in regular blackjack it wins only 1.5 to 1. (You get a 5-card trick when your hand is hit its fifth card and does not bust.) A Pontoon beats all other hands except for a "Blackjack" hand.
How to Play Online Pontoon Blackjack
You can play either single player, 3-handed, or 5-handed Pontoon. You'll begin by placing your bets for each hand being played. (You can bet different amounts for each hand.) Then you'll click on the "Deal" button. As with regular blackjack, you'll then get to choose whether you'd like to hit, stand, split, or double for each of your hands.
When you are done playing your hands, the dealer's two cards will be revealed and it will play its hand.
